Lunch at Mum's

If it wasn't enough that mum and dad had Nyah over night they also invited us for Sunday lunch along with all 3 of my brothers, my sister in law Marie and the boys Danny and Tom. It was so nice to see everyone especially as Kev jets off to Dubai on Friday for a couple of weeks.

We never seem to get together as a family that often and it would be nice if it was something that became a regular thing. It's silly really we all live within 25 minutes of each other yet only get together 3 or 4 times a year - but hey ho I guess we all have busy lives.

Mum did a wicked roast dinner as always with her famous home made yorkie pudd!!!

Our Night Off!!!!!

Mum and dad very kindly offered to have Nyah over night to give me and Dan a well earned break.

Nyah went to mums about 4pm and very happily waved us off. We went out to the Golden Retriever for a lovely meal with Kim and Wil who also had an evening off thanks to Kim's dad. The meal was lovely and the company fantastic, both Dan and I are really going to miss Kim, Will and the wee man Jamie when they go off to California in early 2007.

Dan and I spent the rest of the evening with a DVD and then headed off to bed both sleeping in until 9am - what a treat!

Mum and dad are great with Nyah and she loves spending time with them so we are truly grateful for our night off and can't wait til the next one.

Trip to the New Forest

17th - 19th November 2006

We decided to make one more trip to the caravan in the New Forest before Christmas. The weather was actually really nice for November and we had a very nice, all be it short, time.

We didn't get down til late on the Friday night by which time Nyah went straight to bed and we just chilled out and watched TV. On the Saturday we went into Ringwood for a look round the shops and then headed back to the caravan before taking Nyah swimming. Nyah loved swimming and is getting really good at it, what scares the life out of me is that she has no fear whatsoever of the water and just dives in whether we are ready to catch her or not!

We headed home on the Sunday and straight round to mum and dads for dinner!

Jamies's 2nd Birthday Party

(The Birthday Boy!)

Today was Jamie's 2nd birthday party and the whole gang turned up to help him celebrate.

The party was lovely and all of the kids had a great time.

The food was fab and the cakes, all made by Kim herself, were fantastic!

Jamie seemed to love the knights castle bought for him by the kids and seemed to really enjoy his party. As always Nyah and Jamie were inseparable even having to share a high chair to eat their party food.

Thursday 9th November 2006
Jamie came to play this morning while Kim did some shopping and I thought it would be great for Nyah to have her friend over and have fun but once again Nyah had other ideas and was really nasty to Jamie. Poor little Jaime was being an angel as well and did nothing to deserve Nyah in a mood. I can only apologise to Jamie, poor little thing! However, they did have fun for the first 20 minutes or so before Nyah got a strop on and I did manage to get some pics of them playing nicely!

Wednesday 8th November 2006
I worked in the morning and picked Nyah up from Nanny Lins at half twelve. Nyah was a litle horror when we got home and really tried my patience! I know the terrible twos are not nice and everything but she can be so hateful at times and it is horrible so we now have a naughty spot with a two minute time limit (good old super nanny) not that it really works at the moment but I guess persistence is the key.

Sunday 5th November 2006
We had a really busy day today. We headed straight over to M&S at Camberley after breakie only to find that it is only 'browsing' until 11am and you are not actually allowed to buy until 11am - what a load of crap, so we left there with the intention of going into Staines and then onto Dans dads for lunch, however, Nyah had other ideas and fell asleep in the car so we ditched shopping and headed straight to Dads. Moira was there which was nice as we don't get to see her much as she works so often. We had a lovely Sunday roast and then headed over to Colin's (my eldest brothers) for a Halloween / Bonfire Party. We didn't realise that all of Danny's friends were invited and a bunch of 6/7 year old boys was not our idea of fun - they were horrible! Poor Nyah did not like all the Halloween costumes and the boys were all a bit to noisy for her liking so we only stayed an hour or so and then left. Marie worked really hard getting all the food ready for the party and gave out lovely goodies bags which Nyah really enjoyed.

Saturday 4th Nov 2006
Dan, Nyah and I got up early and shot into Reading to buy Nyah a couple of winter coats, we had a mooch round, got a smoothie and headed home. In the evening we, along with Dad, went to the firework display at Ascot Racecourse. Once there we met up with Kim, Wil and Jamie and a whole host of their friends. The fireworks were fab and both Jamie and Nyah seemed to enjoy them, that was until Nyah fell asleep - at the noisiest part! We left Ascot just after 8pm and headed back to mum and dads with some fish and chips - not that we are allowed to eat things like that on our diet but hey ho you have to have a treat once in a while.
